FoW Axe Solo Build
hi, i took a look at the build that Racthoh http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=77852 made with swords....and i tweaked my way into a very effective Axe build that lets u have up to 6 spiders at a time
However for begginers i would reccomend doing 3 then 6.
DO NOT KILL/ATTACK SKALES
skills:
Cleave
Cyclone Axe
Watch Yourself
Frenzy
Shields Up
Doylak signet
HEaling Signet
Sprint
Attributes
Strength (12) 11+1
Axe Mastery (13) 10+3
Tactics (12) +1 (minor rune) +1 (helm)
**i use the collectors Crimson Carapace Shield + a 15^50% zealous axe with armor+7 vs Physical attacks (a stance axe would work just as good).
*first of all i know many of u would say --Frenzy?? ur crazy...but then again i farm it with 6 spiders on me with Frenzy up all the time and recieve 0-2dmg
(2s are rare but do happen and u have the ocasional 3-5dmg.)
*so here is how this goes:
Once u have killed off all the dryders and have armored spiders left its time to pull them back and engage them. do not use any stances untill u have pulled them back far enough, then use healing signet, sprint to them to evade the arrows and after u have started attacking activate Doylak Signet + Shields Up + Watch Yourself. spam these skills the whole time Once that is done activate Frenzy(it is 8 seconds long and has a 4 second recharge so keep it up all the time). With Frenzy, Cleave (+27 dmg) should recharge every second...which quickly adds up to killing a spider in 10seconds or less.
Cyclone axe is there for a reason...that reason is Healing Spring. Although it is not the end of the world if a spider activates healing spring, because with frenzy and cleave i manage to keep the spider i was attacking at the same health it was before HS was activated, but the run is much slower if HS goes up.
How do u know if a spider is about to use Healing Spring? the moment an adjacent spider stops attacking it is either for Apply Poison or Healing Spring...since the chance is 50/50 i spam cyclone all the time.
This is Basicly it..if ur looking to see how to get to the cave in the 1st place
Racthoh explains that very well...so take a look at his build.
**A Complete run leaves me with 3-4 shards and alot of spider legs (almsot always more than 1000g worth)
I Will put up pictures soon

hmm some interesting tweaks there, but you sure shields up is completely necessary? i never really did like that skill, even though youll be against loads of ranger foes

No Shields up is not completely necesarry, but if u want to always be sucsessful at these runs i reccomend it simply because while u use healing sig....it helps alot
If ur not a big fan of Shields Up then take penetration blow...it speeds up the killing and u have another skill to spam against the Dryder's Wastell's Worry

From my readings it just to clear the beach and spider area. But i had to look cuz of the title of his thread "FOW Axe Solo Build". The title will throw ppl off until you start reading his post.
Now where is that solo axe build for the entire FOW?

no this is not a FoW clearing solo build...simply because there is no such thing...
i guess i should have put "Spider Solo" in the title but i figured ppl knew u cant clear out FoW with one person...
srry if i confused u...but this is a FoW Spider run solo build...i guess thats the way to put it

You're not supposed to block their attacks. You're supposed to use something like Dolyak Signet or Physical Resistence so you get almost no damage from their attacks, and then use Watch Yourself+Heal Sig when your health gets low from the poison.

Cador...u will always be poisoned while fighting the spiders...u cant evadde or block Called Shot or dodge it for that matter...but if u use the skills the way i do...pulling 3 spiders at a time for a start...u should be able to kill a whole group and only use Healing Signet once =)
**when u aggro the spiders dont use any stances/shouts/signets
pull them back far enough (by hitting the closest one with an arrow...a longbow does the job).
After this sprint to them to dodge further shots (except Called Shot).
the moment u get to them activate Doylak Signet then Shields up then watch yourself and THEN use Healing Signet.
from that point on spam Frenzy Doylak Signet and Watch Yourself....and also Shields up as much as u can. Healing Sig when needed too

I use a diff build that works pretty good too.
I use a sup axe and a sup str. The rest of the runes are minor.
The attributes are:
13 str (10+3)
14 axe (9+3+1)
11 tactics (10+1)
then the build is:
cleave
executioners strike
flurry
watch yourself
dolyak sigent
healing sig
endure pain
I can take an most of the spiders that spawn in the begging because they only do 1-2 dmg to you which is nothing so just keep killing them slowly and healing signet everytime it recharges or whenever you need it.
sprint

it is not...major absorbtion and maj vigor will work...even minor vigor will work since u dont need all that much health.
**i was asked wat i used so there it is...everything except the ascalon hands and these 2 sup runes is necessary tho.
i would say the minimum health u want to have is 350...NO less, otherwise taking on more than 3 spiders at a time could be a problem for u.
